A case of uncoupling of two coaches of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express occurred today when the train was running over Kathjori bridge and approaching towards Cuttack station.
East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources here said the B3 and B4 coaches of the Rajdhani Express got separated while the train was passing over the bridge at about 0950 hours.
There was no casualty or any injury to the passengers and all are found to be safe. Since the accident occurred on the bridge it took some time for the railway officials to join the coaches.
However, the passengers of B3 and B4 coaches were shifted to other coaches and the train was taken to Cuttack station for a thorough check.
The railway officials did not take the risk to allow the B3 and B4 coaches to move with the train and hence two more caches were brought from Bhubaneswar station to Cuttack station to replace the B3 and B4 coaches.
The DRM, Khorda Road division has ordered a high level probe into the incident and asked the experts to submit the inquiry report in next 48 hours.
The DRM said strict action will be taken of the inquiry report found anybody responsible for the slackness. The officers of Coach maintenance Depot of Bhubaneswar examined all the coaches of Rajdhani Express at Cuttack station.
ECoR sources said the Rajdhani Express will be ready to depart from Cuttack with full complement of coaches after special safety check. (UNI)
