First phase elections turn out indicates BJP coming to power at the centre and also in Odisha – Modi

Asserting that the turn out in the first phase election was in favour of BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the people of Odisha have decided for a change and vote for BJP both at the centre and also in the state.

The Prime Minister said the indication from the first phase of election was very clear that the BJP will form the next government both at the centre and in Odisha.

Addressing the Vijaya Sanklap Samavesh here in western Odisha, Mr Modi said the Naveen Patnaik government in the state is involved in corruption in PDS, mine, and the schemes meant for the farmers.

Without naming anyone the Prime Minister said, “ you know who is involved in the coal block scam” adding that how can a government which is involved in so many corruptions ensure the development of the state.

Despite rich mineral resources, the state government could not ensure the desired development, as a result, the state remained poor.

The middlemen in the state, he said had a field day as out of 100 paise sent by the centre, only 15 paise is reaching the needy people and the rest is being pocketed by the middlemen.

Modi criticized the Naveen Patnaik government for not implementing the Ayushmasn Bharat and the PM Kissan Yojana depriving the poor people and the farmers the benefit under this scheme and assured that these two central schemes will be implemented in the state if BJP is voted to power.

He said though the central government raised the Minimum Support Price of paddy the farmers in Odisha could not get its benefit as the state government had failed to make proper arrangement for procurement.

He said a separate Water ministry will be created to exclusively look after the water problems and conservation of rainwater which will help the farmers to a great extent.

A separate ministry will also be opened for the fishermen community and Rs 10,000 crore will be spent for the development and welfare of fishermen across the country

Modi regretted that although Rs 6000 crore has been provided in the District Mineral Fund for the welfare of the tribal people, the BJD government could only utilize only Rs1000 crore and the rest money is lying unutilized.

“It is high time to change such a government, the Prime minister said adding the people of Odisha who have reposed faith on the BJD government for 20 years, have now decided to change it.

He also came down heavily on the Naveen Patnaik government for lying and keeping the people in dark by taking the full credit of supplying rice at Rs 1 per kg when the centre is providing Rs 27 to Rs 29 per kg of rice and the state government is providing only Rs 2 per kg.

The Naveen Patnaik government is also creating disparity and jealousy on the basis of regions, he alleged
