AICC President Rahul Gandhi today alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi reeling out lies wherever he goes and his misdirected notion on national security had ignored importantance of India’s Economic security that took a hard hit due to bad economic policies like faulty implementation of GST regime.
Speaking at an election meeting here on Friday ahead of April 23 second phase polling for the remaining 14 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka (the third phase in the country), he said Modi had betrayed common people of the country in his wrong argument on national security.
‘’What is national security. Modi got it all wrong. His decisions on the economic front have been disaster and faulty implementation of GST is the biggest example. When Congress comes to power post 2019 Lok Sabha elections, his party will set right all the wrongdoings of the Modi government, which provided cushion to the rich industrialists including like Anil Ambani but ignored the farmers, small business persons and poor,’’ he added.
Referring to repeated claims on Balakot air strike by the Indian Air Force and alleging that BJP was trying to take political mileage out of it, Rahul Gandhi said what India needs is a strong economy and a strong political will to help the people at grass root level.
‘’Congress won Assembly elections in five States and its coalition with JD(S) in Karnataka has exhibited the will on how the basic economy should be helped and the poorer sections of the society including farmers are empowered,” he said.
‘’Within days of assuming power in Madhya Pradesh, Rajastan, Punjab, and its coalition in Karnataka, we announced farm loan waiver schemes and implemented it. In Karnataka alone Rs 40,000 crore agricultural loans are being written off,’’ he added.
Rahul criticied Modi for asking how the Congress-ruled State governments would get the funds to write off such huge loans to the farmers or take up such major schemes.
‘’We will get the funds out of rich businessmen like Anil Ambani and Mehul Choksi. While some of these rich, who betrayed the banks and even fled the country. I am not here to make false promises to the people of the country,’’ he said.
Rahul said that people have realised that Modi always makes only false promises and were angry. ‘’You go to any part of the country and take up the word Chowkidar, they say ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ and he spoiled the lives of the poor and small businessmen,’’ he stated.
Rahul said the Nyay scheme announced by Congress party in its manifesto was a true scheme and not based on lies like those is being reeling out to the people by Modi. Every poor family would be provided Rs 72,000 per annum that will greatly help at least five crore families in the country come out of the poverty line. (UNI)
