A complaint has been forwarded to the Delhi Police seeking filing of an FIR against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks at a recent rally where he called former PM late Rajiv Gandhi as ‘brashtachari no. 1’
A Supreme Court lawyer has given a complaint at the Chanakya Puri Police Station on Monday asking the police to file FIR in the matter.
In his complaint, lawyer Ajay Agrawal said that during an election rally, PM Modi speaking about Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that his father Rajiv Gandhi’s life ended as a “corrupt person”.
The lawyer has also mentioned other sentences used by PM Modi in his address during the election rally.
“Aapke pitaji ko unke raj darbario ne Mr Clean bata diya tha gaje baje ke saath ‘Mr Clean, Mr Clean’ chalaya tha, lekin dekhte hi dekhte bhrashtachari no 1 ke roop me unka jeevan kaal samapt ho gaya…. ,” the lawyer quoted Mr Modi as saying.
Mr Agrawal has demanded that the police register an FIR in this matter.
The lawyer mentioned he was the petitioner in the Bofors case. On May 10, he wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi asking him not to use this kind of language against a deceased person. ( UNI )
