Sonowal exhorts students to be harbinger of development

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today termed the rank holders of HSLC and HSSLC and Assam High Madrassa Examinations as important component of state’s rich human resources and called upon them to work hard to motivate their fellow students and stimulate the development of the state.

Felicitating students who occupied the first 10 positions in the recently announced results of HSLC, HSSLC and Assam High Madrassa Examinations 2019 at a programme here, Sonowal said, “The state is proud of having young band of human resources who by dint of their hard work and academic excellence can tilt the fortune of Assam”.

He further said, “Assam is full of resources. Be it natural resources, wildlife resources or human resources, with judicious utilization of these resources, Assam can swing its fortune and become one of the front ranking states of the country”.

He, therefore, urged upon the students to empower themselves to utilize these verdant resources to expedite the development of the state.

He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped the country to rediscover the potential of Assam and other North Eastern States.

After assuming power in 2014, Modi had announced the ‘Act East Policy’ to reestablish India’s foreign policy with South East Asian countries and gave a new agenda for North East’s development by terming it as New Engine of Growth.

Sonowal urged upon the students to be the young ambassadors and work hard to expedite the growth trajectory of the state.

Chief Minister Sonowal also expressed his gratitude to the parents and teachers and attributed the students’ success to their hard work, devotion and dedication.

He also advised the students to always carry the blessings of their teachers and parents to win the world around them.

Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya while speaking on the occasion, congratulated the students on their success and wished them all luck and good health in their future endeavour.

Veteran journalist and former President of Asam Sahitya Sabha Kanak Sen Deka congratulated the students and asked them to hone their brilliance and become the responsible members of the society.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose oratorical skill is appreciated across all spectrum, he asked the students to nurture good oratorical skills and become vociferous leaders of the society.

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Rameswar Teli, Chairman House Fed Ranjeet Dass, President Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Assam Pradesh Anup Barman also spoke at the felicitation programme, which was organized by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Assam Pradesh.
