President of UN General Assembly María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés on Wednesday paid her tributes to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who breathed her last on Tuesday night.
Recalling the affable leader she said that Swaraj was an extraordinary woman who devoted her entire life to public service. She extended her deepest condolences to the leader’s friends and family while recalling her meeting with Swaraj.
“Saddened by the news of the passing of Sushma Swaraj, an extraordinary woman and leader who devoted her life to public service,” she tweeted.
“I had the honor of meeting her in my visits to India and will always remember her fondly. My deepest condolences to all of her loved ones,” she wrote.
Swaraj expired last night following massive cardiac arrest here.
She was 67.
