Former Chief Secretary of Odisha Lalat Indu Parija passed away at a private hospital in Cuttack following protracted illness. He was 89.
Son of renowned scientist, Pranakrushna Parija, he served as the Chief Secretary of Odisha twice in 1983 and in 1986. A former captain of Odisha Ranji Team, .Parjia had also served as the Chairman of Orissa Public Service Commission
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the demise of .Parija.
In his condolence message, Patnaik said late Parija was a brilliant administrator and remained as a guiding spirit for the future administrators of the state.
The Chief Minister said Mr.Parija was an example of efficiency and leadership during his service in many capacities including the Chairman of the Orissa Public Service Commission.
Besides his administrative skill, Parija was also an excellent cricketer , Patnaik said adding that his death was a big loss for the state.The Chief Minister also expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
