Two young bikers from this Cantonment on Friday got their names registered in the Limca Book of Records for covering the distance between Kashmir to Kanyakumari within 87 hours, breaking the earlier record of 125 hours.

According to friends Vishal Pundir and Ajay Rana, they had gone to Manali for sight-seeing, where they heard about the record of 125 hours. First, they undertook a journey from Leh-Ladakh to Kashmir in just 12 hours. Encouraged by the adventure, the college students decided to complete a trip from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in less than 125 hours, to break the earlier record. The duo disclosed that they started their journey on the morning of June 2 from Leh and reached Kanyakumari on the evening of June 5.

They said that they had to face difficulties and even fell on a mountain near Tanglang, but continued their trip, with the help of local people and following the rules laid down for safe travel. (UNI)
