Ranchi, Sep 11 (UNI) Farmers will get a gift in harvest season when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana’ on Thursday in the Jharkhand capital. The scheme will secure the lives of five crore small and marginal farmers by providing a minimum pension of Rs 3,000 per month, to those who attain 60 years of age, PMO said in a tweet on Wednesday evening.
Besides, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 400 Ekalvya Model Residential Schools to provide quality upper primary, secondary, and senior secondary level education to Scheduled Tribes students in tribal-dominated areas on Jharkhand. EMRS were started in the year 1997-98 to impart quality education to ST children in remote areas in order to enable them to avail opportunities in high and professional educational courses and obtain employment in various sectors.
Mr Modi will also inaugurate a Rs 1,238 crore New Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Building and lay foundation stone for the New Secretariat Building at Ranchi. During his visit, the PM will also inaugurate the Multi-Modal Terminal at Sahebganj. This will be the second visit of the Premier to the mineral-rich state after assuming office in May this year. Jharkhand is slated to go to state assembly polls later this year.
