Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren held an all- party meeting on Friday and informed the state parties that around two lakh people arrived in the state after lockdown was imposed.
“Around two lakh people arrived in the state and 1.70 lakh have been identified. The state government is keeping track of them to deal with the infection. A list is being prepared at panchayat level of people who arrived in the state from outside. The government is prepared to deal with the situation at every level,” said the Chief Minister in the all-party meeting.
“Resources are being generated to deal with coronavirus. After Ranchi and Jamshedpur, the test has been started in Dhanbad district. The government is sensitive towards social security, health facilities and labourers living outside the state. Various organstaions are working with the state government in its fight against coronavirus. The state govt will deal strictly with those who will try to disturb the social harmony”.
Soren expressed concern over the sudden rise in the number of cornavirus cases. He informed the state parties about government efforts to provide foodgrains and meals to the people.
“Around seven lakh labourers are trapped in other states of the country due to lockdown. All information related to them is being gathered so that help could reach them. The state government is also working get them jobs after they return to the state,” said the Chief Minister.
He informed that the work is going on to provide Rs 15 lakh to each legislator for arranging food for the people.
State BJP chief Deepak Prakash demanded financial support to labourers who are trapped outside the state.
