Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday appealed
to the party booth workers to take a pledge and reach out to the voters with the
commendable work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last five years.
Addressing booth level party workers drawn from four districts at Ranital in Bhadrak
district today, Mr Singh said people in the country have visualized that Prime Minister
Narendra Modi could only bring pride for the country and brighten its image in the
international forum.
He said in 1984 elections when BJP got only two seats the then Prime Minister Rajiv
Gandhi then pooh poohed at the party stating that with two members only what the BJP
could do.
But the party showed its strength in 2014 and emerged as the single largest party in
the country capturing absolute majority in the Lok Sabha.
Mr Singh had a dig at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for his character assassination
on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying “Choukidar chor hai” and remarked “Desh ka
choukidar pure hai and Dobara Pradhanmantri banana sure hai”.
He said nobody can raise any finger on the integrity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
and asked the party workers to go to each and every household and apprise the people
the good work done by the Prime Minister.
Mr. Singh accused the Odisha government of not being able to develop the state which
is lagging far behind in compare to the other BJP ruled states in the country.
The Union Minister assured the Odisha farmers that if voted to power in the state, the
BJP will look into their problems of the MSP and provide one and a half time more than
the production cost of the paddy and other crops.
India, he said is now figured in the top ten country in the world adding “ we want India
not to become super power only but also be the world leader and this could be possible
with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
