At least 13 members of a family were injured when some people attacked them with acid following their opposition to an eve-teasing incident at Dawoodpur village in Vaishali district today. Deputy police superintendent Raghav Dayal confirming injuries to 13 people including two women in the acid attack said prima facie it appeared that the trouble started with quarrel among children of both sides. He said, on the other hand, the victim family claimed that it was targeted as it had opposed eve-teasing of a girl.
DSP said before the acid attack, both sides also indulged in fisticuffs and thrashed each other leaving six members of both sides injured. The injured had been admitted to Hajipur Sadar Hospital. Further investigation was on, the police officer added. (UNI)
