Amravati: Andhra Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally touched 2,452 with the addition of 45 new cases in the 24 hours ending 10 a.m. on Thursday. Of the 45 new cases, four samples were found to have a travel history to the Koyambedu market in Chennai. The state nodal officer reported that 8,092 samples were tested during this period.
The tally of 45 new cases detected in the last 24 hours is comparatively lower than the 68 cases that were reported over the preceding testing cycle of the same duration.
On Thursday, only four positive cases had a travel history to the infamous Koyambedu market in Chennai. While two cases were from Nellore, the other two cases with travel history to Koyambedu, were found in the Chittoor district. One death was reported from the Nellore district during the past 24 hours, taking the overall death toll in Andhra Pradesh to 54.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases grew by three to 718 cases in the state. Forty one persons have been discharged from different hospitals, raising the number of cured cases to 1,680. The cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases now stands at 2,452 in Andhra Pradesh.
The cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases among the returnees from other states remained 153. However, the active cases tally stands at 128 with 25 persons discharged in this category.
