Taking a jibe at the BJP reaching an alliance with the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra for upcoming Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections, the Congress on Monday wondered whether it was a ‘Mahamilawat’ ( ‘grand adultration’) or ‘maha bheya’ (‘grand fear’).
In a tweet on the development, Senior congress leader and AICC treasurer Ahmed Patel said,” First Bihar, then Maharashtra and now Tamil Nadu. The BJP is busy striking alliances. The biggest question is – is it a ‘grand adultration’ or ‘grand fear’.”
In a tweet on its official social media handle, the congress said, ”Just a few of the times, ShivSena
has criticised the Modi govt., even as recently as today. This is BJP’s idea of a holy alliance.”
It also posted on its Twitter handle a few reports of the Shiv Sena criticism of the NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP and the Shiv Sena on Monday forged an alliance for the Lok Sabha elections and assembly polls in Maharashtra wherein the Shiv Sena will contest polls from 23 Lok Sabha seats while the BJP will contest from 25 seats. In the 288- member Assembly, both the parties will contest in the ratio of 50:50.
