Mumbai, Nov 23 Amid fast paced political developments in the state of Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday made it clear that ‘Ajit Pawar’s decision to support the BJP to form the Maharashtra Government is his personal decision’.
“Ajit Pawar’s decision to support the BJP to form the Maharashtra Government is his personal decision, which is totally wrong” Mr Pawar said while addressing a joint press conference with Shiva Sena chief Udhav Thackery here.
To a question on his nephew Ajit Pawar, who took oath along with the BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis, Pawar said that all MLAs of his party had endorsed a Sena-led government and a true NCP member will never join hands with the BJP.
He also said that 10-11 MLAs have gone with Ajit Pawar but that number is not enough to escape anti-defection law. He claimed that the BJP will not be able to prove its majority in the Assembly.
“I have also called a meeting of all MLAs at 1630 hrs. I don’t know whether all of them will come. I will see what to do after that meeting. But as of now, Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP stand together,” Pawar said.
