Amazon opens world’s largest campus in Telangana

E-commerce giant Amazon fined 4 mln euros in France over abusive clauses: ministry

Amazon , largest E-commerce platform, inaugurated it’s own and world’s largest campus building at financial district, outskirts of the city on Wednesday, an official statement said.

Spread over 9.5 acres and it would support more than 15,000 employees , the giant new campus reaffirms Amazon’s long term commitment to India.

The campus was inaugurated by Telangana Minister for Home on behalf of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the presence of Amazon India Country Head and Senior Vice President Amit Agarwal and Amazon facilities and Global Real Estate Vice President John Schoettler, the statement further said.

This campus was the first Amazon’s own building outside the US and the single largest building globally. The campus built on three million square feet, this is Amazon’s single largest building in the world in terms of total area.
The largest tech base outside Seattle and approximately 1.55 lakh contact employees working for Amazon.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit said that we have 50 fulfilment center’s in 13 States in India as well as hundreds of delivery stations and sort center’s , creating nearly two lakh jobs in India. ” I thank the Telangana government for its investment-friendly policies and continued support that has always encouraged us to continue to invest and grow our operations here”, the statement added.
