As many as 11 MLAs have submitted their resignations: Speaker

While confirming the resignations of the 11 MLAs to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Speaker K N Ramesh Kumar today said that he will meet each MLAs and seek their views before taking actions on their resignations.

Speaking to newsmen, here on Saturday, he said that “I was not aware about the arrival of the MLAs to his office and did not be present in my chamber”.

The MLAs, who had resigned to their membership are Ramesh Jarakiholi, B C Patil, Pratap Gouda Patil, Shivaram Hebbar, Mahesh Kumatalli, Ramalinga Reddy, S T Somshekhar (All Congress), K Gopalaiah, H Vishwanath and Narayana Gouda (All JD(S)).
Ramesh Kumar said that he will go by the law before taking any actions, on the resignations of the MLAs.

Meanwhile, JD(S) National President and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, has refused to react over the political developments and said that “I am not aware of the resignations of the MLAs to their membership”.
