Asia's leading Travel and Tourism Conclave begins

Karnataka Minister for Tourism S R Mahesh today inaugurated Asia’s leading Travel and Tourism Conclave in the presence of Lavonne Wittmann, President, SKAL International T K Anil Kumar, Secretary, Karnataka Tourism and Manoj Mathew, President, SKAL Bengaluru.

The three-day event, which brings leading luminaries of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry is being held here from the June 27 to 30, according to a release in Bengaluru on Friday.

SKAL International, founded in 1932 in Paris is a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting Global Tourism and Friendship. It has about 17,000 members in 400 Clubs throughout over 90 countries. The Indian Chapter is the largest in terms of Membership & Number of Clubs in the Asian Region with 14 Clubs and a membership base of 1183 Members.

In his inaugural address, Manoj Mathew, President, SKAL Bangalore said “Bengaluru among other eloquent sobriquets is one of fastest growing cities in the world, with footprints getting stronger each day with the emergence of high – end technology and a global hub for the start-up bandwagon.

Over 250 delegates from across ten countries all aligned to promote friendship and fellowship through the world of tourism are participating in the Conclave.

The key supporters of the event include India Tourism, Karnataka Tourism, Gujarat Tourism, Taj Hotels, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism and Cox & Kings.  (UNI)
