The CCB Police have nabbed a 37 year-old Auto Driver on charges of brutally murdering a five year-old physically disabled toddler and went missing since last 45 days after committing the crime in the Nandini Layout Police Station limits in the city.
Police said on Thursday that the arrested yesterday was identified as Mahesh and he was in the Rowdy Sheetar list in the Magadi Police Station.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Mahesh was friend of victim’s father Jayappa who was frequently travelling in his Auto. Jayappa had said to Mahesh that he has four children and third child is physically disabled, he cannot talk or walk and has spent huge money for his treatment at NIMHANS and other Hospitals and do not have money to spend more.
Mahesh has suggested to Jayappa that he can murder his ailing son Basavaraju by injecting poison and demanded Rs 50,000 for his work. After Jayappa agreed to pay the money after the work Mahesh sent to his house and strangulated to death Basavaraju. Jayappa conducted the last rites at cremation in Guruguntepalya. Mahesh was absconding after the crime.
