Bengal has brought down unemployment by 45 percent and the GDP growth of the state is the highest in the country, according to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee here on Monday. On the occasion of International Youth Day, Ms Banerjee, taking to her Twitter handle, said, ” Our State #Bangla has brought down unemployment by 45per cent. ” My support is always with the youth, students and the new generation. May you be inspired to reach new heights 2/2 #YouthDay, ” she added. ” Today is International #YouthDay. In #Bangla, we celebrate Youth Day on January 12, Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, ” she stated and appealed to the youth, the students & the new generation to be strong. ” I appeal to the youth, the students & the new generation: be strong and ask for answers. There is no answer to unemployment problems, ” the Chief Minister remarked.
The day celebrates youth power all over the world. This year the official theme, as given by the United Nations, is ‘Transforming Education’, meant to acknowledge those who are working to transform education and uplift young people everywhere. (UNI)
