Odisha Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik today alleged that BJP is conspiring to stop the KALIA scheme, launched by the state government for the benefit of the farmers.
Addressing a series of election campaign meetings here, Mr Patnaik said so far 40 lakh farmers have been benefitted by the KALIA scheme but the BJP is conspiring to stop it and deprive the farmers to get their rights.
He, however asserted that nobody could stop it and announced that the two installments of KALIA scheme would be made available to farmers on the first day of the formation of the BJD government.
Mr Patnaik said women are truly the double engine of development and the BJD has given women their rights.
BJD, he said has given ticket to Sunita Biswal, the daughter of Sundergarh for the Sundergarh Lok Sabha so that she will fight for the rights of Sundergarh in Delhi.
The BJD chief urged the people to ask the central leaders what happened to their promise for a second bridge over Brahamni river, Super Specialty hospital in Rourkela.
He said the people should ask them why the farmers are harassed even after covered under the crop insurance scheme and why the coal royalty has not yet been revised.
Mr Patnaik said there is a Cabinet Minister in the Union Cabinet from Sundergarh but he has no courage to raise about your rights before his high command.
Stating that the ‘’4.5 crore people of Odisha are his family and the people of the state are his high command, the BJD supremo said he would continue my fight and serve the people for of the state till his last breathe.’’
The BJD supremo sought the blessings of the people and appealed to them to vote for BJD for both the Lok Sabha and the Assembly.
