Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah, strongly condemning arrest of senior party leader D K Shivakumar by ED, alleged that the BJP has indulged vendetta politics and targeting only Congress leaders.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday at the Airport, he said the BJP government has been trying to tarnish the image of the Congress by arresting the party leaders one after another in the country with aim to no opposition party exists against them and which is not possible in the democracy. He said that Congress party has decided to stage protest through out the State against the arrest with out any summons and the arrest was not called for as he had cooperated with investigating officers for four days.
However, BJP claiming that it has no role in the arrest of Shivakumar, but misusing the ED and IT institutions to harass Congress leaders, he pointed out Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Shiva Kumar cases are different but arrest was politically motivated , he added. (UNI)
