BJP Parl meeting deferred due to death of party leader Madan Lal Saini

The BJP on Tuesday cancelled its Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday following the death of party Rajya Sabha MP and Rajasthan unit chief Madan Lal Saini. The 75-year-old Saini expired on Monday at AIIMS in New Delhi due to a lung infection, sources said.

However, sources in the Parliamentary Affairs ministry said the parliamentary party meeting to be attended by all elected BJP MPs and lawmakers from Rajya Sabha has been “deferred”.

The meeting was scheduled to be held around 0930 hours. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders have condoled the demise of Late Saini. “Sad to hear of the demise of Shri Madan Lal Saini, MP (RS). A veteran in public life, he remained committed to serving those at the grassroots. Condolences to his family and well-wishers,” tweeted President Kovind on Monday evening.

“The passing away of Shri Madanlal Saini Ji is a major loss for the BJP family. He contributed to strengthening the Party in Rajasthan. He was widely respected for his congenial nature and community service efforts. My thoughts are with his family and supporters. Om Shanti,” Mr Mod tweeted.
