BJP will not come to power at centre after LS election: Rangarajan

CPM

Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee member T K Rangarajan on Thursday ruled out the possibility of BJP coming back to power at the centre after the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

Talking to news persons here, Rangarajan said that a secular front government will be formed and all the constituents together will decide the next Prime Minister.

He pointed out that BJP leader Subramanian Swamy himself had stated that the vote percentage of the BJP will not increase this time and it could not secure more seats in the Lok Sabha election as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had failed to give powers to anyone.

The CPI(M) leader said BJP will never respect laws adding that it had failed to respect the laws pertaining to powers in a state or Union Territory.

The ruling of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on the powers conferred upon Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi itself is an example to substantiate this, he added.

He also demanded that the Centre should recall Ms Bedi in the wake of the High Court judgement.

Rangarajan said the appointment of three nominated members by the Lt Governor is not valid and there is no need for a separate judgement on this issue.

He urged the government to scrap the appointment of the three nominated members and stop disbursement of salary to them.

The salary already paid to the three MLAs be collected back, he added.
