Thiruvananthapuram:  The Congress has listed out 15 ways by which the Kerala government can find additional resources to meet the expenditure on fighting Covid-19.

In a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala, here on Thursday, said the government should immediately cancel all cabinet status posts and ask advisors to work for free.

Chennithala said scrap te administrative reforms panel (headed by former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan), cancel the monthly contract with Pawan Hans for helicopter, withhold Rs 700 crore earmarked for renaissance monuments, end the practice of hiring expensive lawyers from Delhi and instead hand over such cases to government lawyers and cancel all unnecessary trips of Ministers and bureaucrats.

The Congress leader also asked Vijayan to end his extravagance where he was spending over Rs 4 crore to manage his social media operations and hand over the work to the state-run Public Relations Department.
