New Delhi: Congress Working Committee member Jitin Prasada has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding security to the family of a serving Army personnel in Amethi, who have been facing threats from the land mafia.
Jitin Prasada spoke to the wife of the Lance Naik Brijesh Kumar Dubey on the phone. She told him that despite the fact that the issue of their land has been resolved, the family continues to live in fear for their life.
Prasada said, “In Uttar Pradesh, the law and order has collapsed and it is very disturbing and unfortunate that the army personnel, who is at the forefront to defend the nation, has to fear for the life of his family back home. It’s the duty of every citizen and especially the government to protect the family of the army peronnel so that he can serve the nation without having the tension of his family at home.”
The matter pertains to Amethi’s Brijesh Kumar Dubey, who is posted on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, was compelled to sit on dharna to get his land case resolved, and it was only after the intervention of the high officials that Dubey could get his land back last week. Even after getting the land back, the family has been facing threats.
Prasada in his letter has alleged that in “every village land mafias are active in the state to usurp the lands of the law abiding and citizens”.
The Congress is not leaving any issue to counter the state government and the party’s state unit is set to start a “poll khol” campaign to highlight the issues concerning the people in each village.
The Congress and the state government have been locked in bitter war since Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced to provide buses for the migrants, which the state government declined alleging that the list was forged as may of the vehicle numbers provided were not of buses but scooters and bikes. In this connection, the state government had arrested the party’s state chief, who is now out on bail.
