In an endeavour to strengthen a bond with the rural populace, Congress President Rahul Gandhi averred on Friday that his party’s dispensations are not controlled by the bureaucracy but function with Panchayati Raj support.
“The Congress governments in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan are regimes for the youth, cultivators, labourers and women. Let no minister or Congress worker lose sight of the fact that their work is to pay a patient ear to the public’s order,” he claimed while addressing an Aabhaar Sammelan (Convention for Expressing Gratitude) here.
During an approximately 20-minute-long speech, the visiting politician rained fire on this state’s predecessor Bharatiya Janata Party regime, eulogised Congress workers as lions and said that they were instrumental in government formation and helped Mr Kamal Nath attain the Chief Ministerial position.
“The Chief Minister and every minister shall always keep their doors open for workers,” he added.(UNI)
