Counting of votes for LS seats in Delhi to be held in 7 centres

Seven counting centres have been set up for the counting of votes on May 23 for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.
Chandni Chowk seat’s counting centre will be held in SKV at Bharat Nagar, while counting of votes for North-East Delhi parliamentary constituency will be done in ITI Nand Nagri.
Votes for East Delhi seat will be conducted in Badminton court of Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.
The counting for New Delhi parliamentary constituency will be held in N P Bengali Girls Senior Secondary School located in New Delhi’s Gole Market.
Counting of votes for North-West Delhi seat will be held in DTU of Shahabad, Daulatpur, and for West Delhi it will be held in Integrated Institute of Technology sector nine of West Delhi.
For South Delhi the counting will be done in Jija Bai ITI for Women at August Kranti Marg Sirifort.
The counting of votes will start at 0800 hrs. First postal ballot will be counted. This time the results can be delayed by five to six hours.
The votes of EVM machines will be counted first. After that the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) will be calculated according to the order of the Supreme Court.
Delhi’s Chief Election Officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh said that there are 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi and five EVMs of each assembly area will be matched with the slips of VVPAT machines.
”Matching VVPAT slips will start after computation of EVM,” he said.
Mr Singh said a list of 200 polling booths has been prepared in each assembly.
”Due to this process, there will be delay in declaring final results but trends will be detected first,” he added.
Ten assembly constituencies fall under a single Lok Sabha seat of Delhi.
