Covid-19 cases touch 100-mark in Odisha

Odisha reports highest single-day spike of 2,496 corona cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Covid-19 positive cases touched the 100-mark on Saturday as six more positive cases were reported from Jajpur district.

The six positive cases — all male aged between 23 years and 57 years — had returned from West Bengal, the state Information and Public Relations Department tweeted.

Contact tracing and follow-up actions are underway, the department said.

The total number of positive cases in Jajpur district stood at 18 on Saturday.

In Odisha, 34 persons have recovered so far in while the number of active cases stood at 65. One person has died of the disease.

Out of the 10 districts which have reported Covid-19 positive cases so far, five districts don’t have any active case now, informed the Health Department. These districts are Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Puri and Dhenkanal.
