Bhubaneswar: The death toll due to Covid-19 has crossed the 100 figure mark in Odisha, to a total of 103 with the death of six more patients in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Tuesday.
The deaths were reported from Kendrapara, Gajapati, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada and Cuttack districts.
The state also reported 647 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 18,757 in the state.
Out of the 647 fresh cases, 431 were reported from quarantine centres and 216 are local contacts, said the department.
The highest positive cases were detected from the hotspot Ganjam (225), followed by Cuttack (84), Khordha (68) and Rayagada (47).
With this, the number of active cases rose to 5,715 while 12,909 people have recovered from the disease so far.
