Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday met Cabinet secretary P K Sinha to discuss about cyclone Fani which is expected to make landfall in Odisha by Thursday evening.
He told reporters after the meeting that the Centre would provide an amount of Rs 340 cr as emergency relief fund.
The state government has sought 2 helicopters and also asked for NDRF teams. “The Centre would provide every possible help to the states of Andhra, Odisha and also other states where the cyclone is expected to reach soon,” Mr Pradhan said.
The minister has sought help of telecom, power and home departments.
