The Delhiites on Monday witnessed the hottest day of the season, with a maximum temperature of 48 Degree C recorded at Palam , eight notches above the normal and the highest for the month of June in the last five years.”The previous highest temperature was 47.8 degrees Celsius, recorded on June 9, 2014,” MeT official said.The maximum temperature at Safdarjung weather observatory was recorded at 45.6, six notches above the normal.The minimum temperature at Palam was recorded at 30.2 degrees C, two notches above the normal.The minimum temperature at Safdarjung was recorded at 27.2, a notch below the normal.
The relative humidity till 1730 hrs was pegged at 14 per cent.The Met office has issued a red alert for Monday as well as Tuesday in selected areas of Haryana , Chandigarh and Delhi.There will be Heat Wave on Tuesday, with the maximum and minimum temperature likely to hover around at 46 and 30 degrees Celsius.
