Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Railways will run special trains to Ajmer from Puri for the Khawaja Urs Fair-2020, said an East Coast Railway (ECoR) statement on Tuesday.
The decision was taken after reviewing the long waiting list in regular trains.
The Puri-Ajmer Special will depart at 9 a.m. on February 26 and arrive at 4 am on February 28. In its return direction, the train will depart at 8.05 p.m. on March 2 and arrive in Puri at 4.14 pm on March 4, the statement said.
Passengers can easily get confirmed berths in this special train to make the journey hassle-free, it said.
The annual ‘Urs’ festival is celebrated to commemorate the death anniversary of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, founder of the Chishtiya Sufi order in India.
It is celebrated for six days in the 7th month of Islamic Lunar Calendar, called Rajab and features night-long qawwali singing.
This year, the first Rajab will be held in the night of February 25-26, and 6th Rajab will be held on March 1-2.
