Female teacher burnt alive in UP's Siddharthnagar

A female teacher was allegedly set ablaze by several youths after tying her hands and legs in the Mohana town of this district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Wednesday.
According to sources, Assistant teacher Anjali Yadav, originally a resident of Jalaun district, was allegedly burnt alive by some youths in her own room on Tuesday evening.
After collecting information generated through the call details in Anjali’s mobile phone, police arrested some youths in the matter and they are currently being interrogated.
Anjali’s first posting was at the Kanchanpur Primary School in the Naugarh block and four months back, she had been transferred to the Junior High School Gauhniya. She used to live with another teacher Khushboo in the Mohana town.
On Monday, Khushboo had left for her home after the school closed and at the time of the incident, Anjali was alone at home.
After smoke emanated from Anjali’s room on Tuesday evening, the neighbours reached there. The door of the room was closed from outside and the victim’s hands and legs had been tied together, while she had been completely burnt.
The people later intimated the police about the incident.
Further investigation is underway.
