Fire at AIIMS, no casualties so far

New Delhi : A major fire broke out in the All India institute for medical sciences on Saturday evening but there were no casualities, fire officials said . The fire occurred in the first and second floor of the building next to the emergency block of All India Institute of Medical Sciences . Around 30 fire tenders are on the spot to fight the blaze , while the fire fighters and the security personnel are evacuating people from the building which houses research labs as well as rooms for the doctors. The building does not have patient wards. Security stationed at the premier medical institution also swung into action to prevent any kind of untoward incident at one of the most crowded hospital in the city. So far, there are no reports of any casualties form the spot. The cause of fire is suspected to be a short circuit. However, the exact cause is yet to ascertained.
