Fuel prices dropped by 6 paise per litre on Thursday.
In Delhi, petrol retails at Rs 71.80 per litre as against yesterday’s Rs 71.86 p/l while diesel costs Rs 66.63 a litre (Rs 66.69 p/l on Wednesday).
In Mumbai, people have to shell out Rs 77.41 per litre while yesterday it was Rs 77.47 p/l. Diesel retails at Rs 69.82 a litre as against yesterday’s Rs 69.88 per litre. According to Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol and diesel cost Rs 73.86 p/l as against yesterday’s Rs 73.92 while diesel is being sold for Rs 68.39 a litre in Kolkata.
Similarly, in Chennai, petrol is retailing at Rs 74.53 per litre and diesel costs Rs 70.43 per litre.
In Noida, petrol is available at a price of Rs 71.39 per litre and diesel costs Rs 65.70 a litre.
In Gurugram, petrol is being sold for Rs 71.91 a litre and diesel Rs 65.78 per litre.
As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight.
