Being on duty for some hours or a day is not the issue but, for anyone to witness the cops on duty during the lockdown without the basic things like a glass of water or a cup of tea appears really tough .
At any corners of the cities or towns in the state, the picture is same almost. Right from early hours, they are there, keeping a watch on violators.
With the mercury on the rise, it really becomes more challenging for these people in uniform. Merely clapping for them is not enough.
It is not known, that if the government or the higher ups in the police hierarchy have made arrangements for the men on duty on the ground but, with, all the tea, snacks and other outlets closed, the challenges for them can well be imagined.
The state must take up this issue with a priority and make the minimum required arrangement for them.
We call them ‘heroes’ and Samaritans but, when energy gets exhausted, then it can speak on their health and mind as well.
It is heard that, in some down-town areas of the state people themselves have volunteered to reach out to the cops with the basic refreshments. That is really a god gesture.
With funds flowing in, it should not be a big deal for the government to play a Santa for the cops.
