Chandigarh: Haryana has seen a steady increase in the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients and gradual decline in fatality rate.
This fact came to light a virtual meeting on Tuesday between Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora and National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog Member V.K. Paul on Covid-19 status in the state.
The Chief Secretary said lockdown and containment measures have been enforced effectively in the state while ensuring the economic activity goes on unaffected.
State Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Rajeev Arora said in June the recovery rate was 44.78 per cent which has improved to 77.46 per cent by July-end and this is higher than the national recovery rate of 63.53 per cent.
He said there was a decline in the fatality rate too.
Also, the state has been progressively increasing the number of tests conducted both under rapid antigen test as well as RT-PCR, and during June-July the number of tests conducted has doubled while the tests per million population have reached 21,157.
The positivity rate in the state has gone down to 5.75 per cent.
The logistics and medical infrastructure of the state is in place as the testing capacity has been increased to 15,000 tests per day and more testing laboratories would be established to further augment the testing capability.
Sero-epidemiological survey is also being conducted and will be strengthened further.
Arora said the state has 10,630 isolation beds, sufficient supply of medicines, 1,080 ventilators, etc.
Moreover, plasma therapy is also being administered for treatment of COVID-19 patients and is being strengthened further.
