The Special Task Force(STF) of Kolkata Police has seized contraband heroin worth Rs 12 crore and arrested two men from Assam in the Hastings area of the city, police said today. The arrested men, Dipak Roy and Kumar Chettri, are residents of Anglong and Tezpur in Assam, respectively.
Police said the duo was traveling in a car when police intercepted their vehicle near Maidan area of Hastings police station on Saturday. After a thorough search of the car, drugs concealed in hallow doors of the SUV were recovered. Police also seized the vehicle. This is one of the major seizure of drugs from the city in recent times.
