Patna High Court today struck down the provision for lifetime official bungalows to former Bihar chief ministers declaring them ultra vires to the constitution.
A division bench of Chief Justice Sahi and Justice Anjana Mishra held the provisions for life time official bungalows to former chief ministers were not only ultra vires to the constitution but also misuse of hard earned money of common people.
The bench declared that it was absolutely wrong to provide such facilities to somebody who was not holding the post anymore.
Former chief ministers Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, Dr Jagannath Mishra, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Satish Prasad Singh would be affected following the High Court`s judgement.
Taking suo motu cognizance of the matter, the court had reserved its judgement after completing the hearing. (UNI)
