India will host 91st General Assembly of INTERPOL in the national capital, the Union Home Ministry officials said, here on Friday.
On October 18, India won the vote for hosting 91st General Assembly in India in the year 2022, as part of celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence.
On August 30, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah proposed hosting of INTERPOL General Assembly in New Delhi in the year 2022, as part of Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of India’s independence and when INTERPOL Secretary General Mr. Jürgen Stock called on him in New Delhi.
CBI Director Rishi Kumar Shukla proposed India’s candidature in his brief address at the ongoing 88th INTERPOL General Assembly at Santiago Chile and an overwhelming majority voted in favour of India’s proposal to host.
Madhya Pradesh DGP, and Delhi Police Commissioner are also part of the Indian delegation to the undergoing session of General Assembly. INTERPOL is an international organization with 194 member states and 100 years of experience of international cooperation in Policing.
