Chilika: As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Swarnim Vijay Varsh as well as upcoming Navy Day Celebrations, INS Chilka hosted a one day Visit of Members of Veteran Sailors Forum (Odisha Chapter) on 20th November .Cmde NP Pradeep, NOIC (Odisha) & Commanding Officer INS Chilka along with Mrs Bindu Pradeep, President NWWA Chilka welcomed the 290 members comprising 120 Naval Veterans and their families.The meet gave the Veterans an opportunity to relive their memories and experiences of their glorious period of training at the prestigious establishment. It was a moment of nostalgia at their alma mater as also a recognition of their selfless service to the nation and the Indian Navy.
The Veterans also had an informal interaction and experience sharing discussions with the current generation of Trainees, Sailors and Officers and their families. A facilitation centre was set up to resolve issues related to Pensions, Welfare Schemes, ECHS, Canteen Service for the Veterans.The event was a big success and proved as an effective platform to bridge the “past” with the “present”.
