Is Odisha nearing at any total lockdown of activities, mainly in the twin city where the authorities lay emphasis on social distancing as the principal deterrent against the COVID-19 spread.
After an advisory on the complete closure of the big shopping malls, cinema halls, multiplex , stand-alone restaurants, bars and coffee and other eateries, the state police can be seen going a step ahead to disperse gatherings at road-side food joints like Omfed tea stalls and small tiffin shops.
That may be a step in the right direction as people remain unconcerned with the reality that, ‘clustering can cause the risk’ and ‘ that is exactly we are trying to ensure’ said a police official.
The advisory issued by the General Administration and public Grievances also said that, all markets, shopping destinations, and even village Haats are required to operate within certain regulations so that, some essential items do not get affected.
