The Union Cabinet meeting at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence on Monday morning to discuss Jammu and Kashmir crisis has concluded.
It is understood that some important decisions have been taken in the meeting, though no information has been officially received regarding the discussions held at the Prime Minister’s house yet. It is reported that, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will make a statement in this regard only in Parliament.
First, Shah will make a statement on the prime Minister’s behalf in the Rajya Sabha first and then in the Lok Sabha.
The crucial meeting started at 0930 hrs soon after the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), which comprises Modi, Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In a bid to avoid any untoward incident, restrictions have been imposed across the Kashmir Valley from early Monday only.
