MakeMyTrip Limited today rolled out a new category on its platform – ‘Weekend Getaways’, that will allow consumers to plan their long weekend holidays to domestic and short-haul international destinations in an efficient and hassle-free way.
The new category addresses an emerging trend amongst Indians of making the most out of long weekends by getting out of home cities and indulging in new experiences while traveling to new places.
With clear trends reflecting surge in room nights booked over long weekends and peak search traffic from metro cities ahead of long weekends, these holiday listings will initially be rolled out for top ten metro cities along with a handful of Tier 2 cities and will be ramped up progressively, a

Designed for a maximum of four days, the category provides itineraries for all travel cohorts – be it a family looking for a leisurely break to a couple seeking a quiet retreat or millennials planning a self-drive road-trip to a busy corporate professional looking to escape the city by going backpacking.
