Barabanki: A man in UP beheaded his wife and reached the police station holding the head, causing shock and panic among residents, the police said on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Arvind Chaturvedi said the crime took place in Bahadurpur village. The man, identified as Akhilesh, has been arrested and the police are looking into the case.
According to witnesses, Akhilesh dragged his wife out of the house during a fight. In a fit of rage, he began thrashing her and slashed her head with a sharp weapon.
It was shocking to see him walking along with the decapitated head of his wife, they added.
According to the police, Akhilesh had got married two years ago and had a daughter who died of a disease.
