Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati today took on BJP, Congress and Odisha’s BJD and accused them discrimination against dalits and minorities.
Launching her party’s electoral campaign in the state, Mayawati attended a public meeting in Bhubaneswar today where she rued that the leading parties have discriminated against the dalits and minorities for long on the basis of caste and religion.
She targeted Naveen-led BJD government here for not effectively implementing the reservation policy meant for backward communities in jobs and education.
“The state government has plenty of vacancies but they are neither being filled up for appointments or promotion,” she rued while adding that crimes against backward and marginal communities have risen in the state under BJD rule.
Criticizing the Modi led BJP, she called his government to be doing “chowkidari of the rich” and called his party “communal”. Painting the Congress in the same color, she said,”both BJP and Congress have a similar attitude towards the minorities. They are two sides of the same coin”.
She urged the dalits of the state to retain the balance of power with them and vote for BSP to usher the change.
