Former Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) Mayor, Former Karnataka Legislative Assembly Member and Maharashtra Ekikarana Samiti (MES) leader Sambaji Patil died in a private Hospital last night.
He was 68. He was survived by wife and one daughter.
A veteran MES leader, Sambaji Patil was spearheading agitation for inclusion of Belagavi District in Maharashtra State and every year he was holding paralal meeting on the first day of Winter Session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly held at Suvarna Soudha every year.
He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 2013 on MES ticket from Belagavi South defeating BJP candidate Abhay Patil.
Minister Satish Jarkiholi, R V Deshpande, BJP Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore, among others, have condoled death of Sambaji Patil.
Deshpande, speaking to newsmen after paying his last respects to the departed soul, said that Sambaji Patil had maintained good relationship with all party leaders and had strived for development of Belagavi City during his Mayorship. (UNI)
