Taking an unusual aggressive stance to the barrage of harsh criticism by visiting central leaders of BJP and Congress, Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik today chided them by calling them ‘vote hungry migrant birds’ while starting on a 60-km roadshow from Berhampur as part of his campaign in Ganjam today.
“Where were they during when cyclone Titli? Where were they during the drought? They keep coming here now because of elections,” he said.
Besides, he played the old card of ‘central negligence’ and special category status issue once again.
“Where is special category status? Where is there no reservation for women? Where is the KALIA fund getting blocked? They are shedding crocodile tears because of elections” he added in an obvious dig to BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Besides, without naming Modi, he asked the public to ask about the 2 crore jobs promised each year.
Pitching in for his candidates, he termed the 4.5 crore Odias his family and assured that he will be with the people of the state through thick and thin. Further, he recounted the people-centric schemes of his government and urged the public to vote for his candidates.
