Patna: Since the declaration of Bihar as a dry state in April 2016, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been taking various measures to stop the liquor mafia from smuggling in huge consignments of liquor from neighbouring states but apparently to no avail.
A video which recently took the Internet by storm, shows state JD-U Vice President Vishal Gaurav in an inebriated state, singing and dancing with a bottle of liquor in his hand amid the lockdown.
Soon after the video went viral, the opposition parties spared no effort to attack the ruling party. Taking to Twitter, the RJD said, “Nitish Kumar ji this man is JDU’s state vice president. Despite liquor ban in the state, the leader could be seen sanitizing himself by dancing. The poor in Bihar are dying due to lack of ration and the chief minister has failed to control the law and order situation in the state.”
Retweeting this tweet, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad wrote, “Respected Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ji, the leader should be arrested immediately. If this person who violates the law is not arrested then it clearly means that the government itself is violating the legal barriers and getting it done. “
